The Undergraduate Research Symposium and ASUR (Associated Students for Undergraduate Research) provide a full range of support and resources for prospective and accepted undergraduate presenters, including abstract writing, poster and slideshow design, oral and poster presentation, and public speaking.
The Undergraduate Research Symposium website offers a wide range of resources to assist undergraduate researchers and prospective presenters in all these areas, including written guidelines, FAQs, sample abstracts, photos, video interviews with symposium presenters, video recordings of full oral presentation panels, past symposium programs, and an archive of posters and slideshow presentations from past presenters.
January 4 through March 15:
ASUR is leading peer-facilitated preparatory workshops on abstract writing. These workshops are held weekly on during winter term. Undergraduate Research Symposium faculty will also offer 1:1 appointments to assist with abstract composition. Just email us!
From March 23 through May 18:
ASUR will lead peer-facilitated preparatory workshops on poster and slideshow design, as well as oral and poster presentations rehearsals. Undergraduate Symposium faculty and librarian organizers will also offer tutorial appointments for these areas.
We encourage you to engage these resources and initiate contact with ASUR (firstname.lastname@example.org) and the symposium organizers early and often throughout your preparations for the Seventh Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, happening on May 18, 2017.
