Call for Volunteers - 2020 Virtual Undergraduate Research Symposium
The Undergraduate Research Symposium Planning Committee invites you to serve as a volunteer for the 10th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on Thursday, May 21 in our new virtual format.
To honor the original research and creative work of our students, the Symposium strives to frame the environment of an academic conference, and the role of the volunteer plays an integral part in this endeavor. The 2020 Symposium strives to maintain last year’s record momentum of 513 presenters distributed across concurrent oral and creative work sessions, 200 posters, several FIG and ARC group presentations.
Volunteers are welcome to indicate their availability on the survey link above. There are numerous opportunities to be involved such as:
- Moderating live Zoom preentation sessions (our goal is to host 2 moderators per session to balance the technology needs)
- Presenters and Faculty Mentors will be invited to the Zoom sessions and the moderator(s) will introduce the students, and facilitate discussion. All Zoom sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the Symposium YouTube channel for viewing after the Symposium as part the Symposium on-line exhibit.
- Technology facilitation
- And other means of digital and organizational support.
If you wish to accept our invitation to serve as a volunteer please complete the brief sign-up form no later than Friday, May 8 at 12:000pm (noon).
